Why county matters more than state
Medicare Advantage plan availability and benefits are set at county level. A consumer twenty miles away in an adjacent county may have completely different options, or none the buyer can serve. Campaigns therefore often target named counties rather than whole states, and out-of-area is one of the highest-frequency rejection reasons in the vertical.
Holding quality at volume
Advantage is the vertical where centers most often trade approval rate for throughput, and it is always a bad trade. Buyers allocate volume on approval rate, so a center running eighty transfers a day at sixty percent approval receives less over time than one running fifty at ninety percent. Front-load the eligibility questions and disqualify on the call.
The lock-in question
Consumers within a lock-in or restriction period generally cannot switch, which makes the transfer worthless regardless of interest. This is a fast question to ask and a frequent cause of rejection when skipped. Build it into the opening rather than leaving it to the agent's discretion.
Enrollment timing
The Annual Enrollment Period concentrates volume, and buyers staff up expecting centers to do the same. Commit only the capacity you can genuinely sustain — a center that overcommits for peak and underdelivers damages its standing for the following year.
